This whole section is based upon our Excel Add-Ins software such as the Mail Merge and Label Merge software tools; the process is similar for the other software we offer - simply follow the instructions given for those.

To uninstall you must do the following in this order:

1. Close Excel
2. Reopen Excel with a blank workbook open
3. On your keyboard press and release Alt, then T and then I, and uncheck the appropriate PATools software
4. Click on OK - the menu item(s) should have gone - if not, you can manually remove them as explained in the Troubleshooting section below
5. Close Excel

This has successfully uninstalled the software.

For a complete removal of all traces of our software you then need manually to remove any files you downloaded and unzipped.

You can also check if the following folder(s) exist and if so safely delete it/them and all contents:

 C:\Program Files\PATools Software\ {software name}
 C:\PATools\{software initials} eg C:\PATools\MM
 or any other location you chose when installing

The majority of our software does not make any direct alterations to the Registry, though Excel may do so depending on your version; we recommend that you do not alter any registry settings.

Trouble-shooting

Menu items still show for PATools

If you do not follow the above instructions in the correct order you may be left with menu items that no longer work or you no longer require.

You can manually delete menu items as follows:

1. With a blank workbook open in Excel go to Tools | Customize
2. Select the PATools menu item(s) you no longer require and drag them away from the menu into the workbook area
3. Select the 'Close' button in the Customise dialog box
4. You should then immediately close Excel and re-open it so it permanently saves this change
